A simple 12-volt cigarette lighter in your car and a power inverter during an emergency can be a lifesaver. A power inverter could run a laptop, charge a cell phone charger, run a nebulizer for asthmatic episode. It is recommended to choose power inverters that are rated under 300 watts when using the 12-volt cigarette lighter socket found in most vehicles. The reason for this is after reaching 300 watts of draw on the inverter, the fuses in your car will begin to blow.
