Roosevelt Townhouse Apartments Transitional Housing

Community Action Agency provides transitional housing for eligible families in an agency-operated apartment complex, The Roosevelt Townhouse Apartments Transitional Housing Complex. Located in Springfield Township, the eight-unit complex serves as a temporary home for individuals and families who are attempting to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

In addition to working with the residents on life skills such as debt counseling and housekeeping, caseworkers also help residents to utilize many of the agency programs aimed at promoting independence, including:

Obtaining basic necessities such as clothing, food, and furniture through our Supportive Services program;
Receiving job readiness training, job referrals and placement, career counseling, job retention coaching, adult literacy classes, GED services, and computer training through our Workforce Development program;
Enrolling pre-school age children in Head Start;
Introducing fathers to our Fatherhood Initiative program and couples to our Health Marriages/Healthy Families workshops; and
Helping any young adults in the family become involved in our Youth Services programs.
Transitional housing residents may live in the Roosevelt Apartments for up to three years. The ultimate goal of the program is to help individuals and families overcome barriers to self-sufficiency during this time so that they may find and retain permanent housing, including homeownership.
