Patient Assistance Programs provide free or low cost prescription mediciation to low-income people who are uninsured or under-insured and meet the program guidelines. Most are provided by the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the medication.
 
 
 One of the best sites to search for Patient Assistance Medication is www.needymeds.org
This nonprofit website acts as a search portal for patient assistance programs.  There is no cost to use this service which currently list 390 companies that offer free drugs and patient assistance programs.
 
 For individuals and families who lack prescription drug coverage and are not eligible for Medicare, Together Rx Access offers a free quick-start savings card to save from 25% to 40% on brand-name prescription drugs and products.
