The Family Support program works with families who are in need of emergency assistance.

The program primarily serves Campbell County, however, residents of Kenton, Boone, Grant, Pendleton, Carroll, Owen, and Gallatin Counties are also assisted.

Thanksgiving Holdiay Assistance Program

 

Food pantry: UM's Food Pantry includes toiletries and personal hygiene products: Clients can come in for this service any time during program hours. No appointments are necessary.

 

USDA Commodities: UM is a provider of food items through the USDA commodities program. Eligibility for this program is based on income and household size. Eligible clients can pick up commodities once a month from a distribution site.

 

Thrift Store: Our Thrift Store stocks: clothing, household items, and furniture. The Thrift Store is open to the public, and operates Thursdays and Fridays 9 AM-Noon and Saturdays 9 AM - 1 PM. Clients in need of items who cannot afford the Thrift Store are welcome to speak to a case manager during regular program hours.

 

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Assistance to avoid homelessness: UM provides financial rental assistance to those facing eviction, based on resources available at the time. To receive assistance, call (859) 727- 0300 to make an appointment. Appointments are scheduled 9 AM, 10 AM and 11 AM Monday-Friday as long as funds are available. Assistance to avoid utility disconnection: UM provides financial utility assistance to those facing disconnection, based on resources available at the time. To receive assistance, call (859) 727- 0300 to make an appointment. Appointments are scheduled 9 AM, 10 AM and 11 AM Monday-Friday as long as funds are available.

 

Other case-specific emergency assistance: during program hours upon request.

 

Case Management: Every client who comes in is required to meet with a case manager. This person will listen to a client’s needs and discuss whether UM can help, what we can do, and any other community resources available to manage the current emergency situation and/or meet long-term needs.

Food Stamps

 

The Food Stamp Program helps people with little or no money buy enough food for healthy meals. It does this by providing people with food stamp benefits, which can be used to buy food at participating stores.
