Their mission is to provide necessary medications and pharmaceutical care free of charge to those unable to pay.
 
Hours:  Open Monday & Thursday 9:00 - 3:30 pm, tuesday 12 - 3:30 pm drop off and pick up only.  Monday and Thursday are to register new clients.  Provides free medication to low income families.  Refills for existing clients and accepts 8 - 10 new clients on this day.  Need income verification, household expense report and current print out from your pharmacy.

Those serviced include the homeless, indigent or needy who do not quality for or have insurance that covers medications. Each person will be screened for eligibility by either the referring parish, social organization, or the Pharmacy.

Documents needed for Program Qualification:

 

Applicants must live in Northern Kentucky, cannot have prescription drug coverage, and are screened to determine eligibility. Applicants with Medicare D plans are possible eligible. To participate in a screening interview, please present the following:

  • 1. A picture i.d. (for example, a driver's license) and social security card.
  • 2. Proof of no prescription insurance (for example, a printout from applicant's current pharmacy, or a referral from a doctor/hospital).
  • 3. Verification of the income of the applicant and all members of the applicant's total household.
  • 4. Verification of the rent/mortgage and heating/cooling bills.

 

Samples of current income for applicant and all members of the household:

 

1. Paycheck or pay stub bank statement

2. Dividend/interest/pension statements letter from food stamp office social security award letter proof of disability from doctor/lawyer latest tax return letter from those providing money to pay expenses

 

Documents needed for one-time emergency assistance:

Applicants may receive assistance with their medications on a One-Time emergency basis. In order to receive this service, they must supply the following information and return for full screening before refills are provided:

  • 1. Picture i.d. (for example, a driver's license) and social security card.
  • 2. Proof of no prescription insurance (for example, a printout from applicant's current pharmacy, or a referral from a doctor/hospital).
  • 3. Written prescriptions.
  • 4. A piece of mail proving Northern Kentucky residency.

Health Kentucky

This is a statewide non-profit organization that coordinates access to free health care for citizens who do not qualify for government programs and cannot afford health insurance. Once a person is approved, he or she remains eligible for one year to visit volunteer doctors, dentists, hospitals, home health agencies and hospices, and obtain free prescriptions donated by pharmaceutical companies and filled by retail and hospital pharmacies. An individual can reapply for another year of eligibility at the end of the first year.

Eligibility

Must be a Kentucky resident and:

Uninsured (without private insurance or public assistance through Medicaid or Medicare)
Income below 100 percent of the federal poverty guidelines
Resource limit of $2,000

This organization offers Supported Living Services with the goal of helping individuals remain in the community, avoiding homelessness and long-term hospitalization. Supported Living Services is a voluntary program where assistance and specific needs are identified and and then assistance is provided to address those identified needs. Individuals are given assistance in locating suitable housing, applying for Medicaid, applying for food stamps and getting medical attention which could include psychiatric care.

NorthKey Community Care

NorthKey Community Care provides assistance to individuals suffering from emotional problems or mental illness. Services include psychological, psychiatric and medication evaluation and treatment.
