Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the families live that your serve?

Most families we serve live in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area.

What kind of furniture do you accept and not accept?       Accepted Items

When do you pickup?

We do pickups at least once a week and sometimes as many as 5 times a week, depending on our volunteer availability.  (Almost all Fridays for sure and one Saturday a month)

How do you know what families need help?

We get referrals of families from:

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Bethany House, House of Peace, Catholic Social Services, Inter Parish Ministries, Milford Miami Ministries, American Red Cross, Center for Respite Care, and Many local churches

Where do you get your donations?

From generous businesses and residential donors in the Cincinnati/tri-state area.

How can I get someone to pickup my items?

Just contact us to arrange a pickup date.

Does it cost to have you pick up our furniture?

No, it does not cost you to have us pick up your furniture.  Many people do offer a small cash donation or a 'love offering' to offset some of our costs, but it's not required.

What condition do the items need to be in?

We really hope that  “Gently used” answers that.  We do not accept items with stains, or tears in the fabric.  We try to explain it like this:  if it’s in good enough shape to give to a friend or family member, then it's what we are looking for.  We strive to keep our clients dignity intact by giving them items of worth.  Thanks for understanding this
