Help for Elderly & Disabled in Ohio:
A part of our free weatherization service is our Energy Maintenance Service Program. The program provides a one-time maintenance service for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners who are gas or electric Duke customers in Ohio.
Depending on income and need, services provided could include:
Furnace clean and tune; hot water heater, dryer, and refrigerator inspection.
Installation of low-flow shower heads, florescent light bulbs, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Insulation of water pipes.
Customer education.
Possible refrigerator replacement.
About refrigerator replacement: Duke customers in Ohio and Kentucky who own their home and who qualify for PWC's Weatherization Program, could be eligible for a new refrigerator. PWC measures the amount of electrical energy used by the homeowner's refrigerator. If the homeowner's refrigerator uses excessive electrical energy - based on standards set by Duke, PWC will replace it with a new, more energy efficient refrigerator!
