ACE Program - Accelerated Call Center Education
 

ACE is the Urban League's customized training program for call center operators. It provides intensive training in computer skills, customer service and "multi-tasking" in a four-week simulated call center environment designed to qualify graduates for the high end of entry-level employment in the call-center industry.

Date:Every six weeks
Time:ACE Daytime Classes are held Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
ACE Evening Classes are held Tuesday and Thursdays 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and every other Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m

Eligibility Guidelines

To become a Cincinnati Works Member, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Willing and capable of working a permanent job for at least 1 year
  • Willing to attend and complete a one-week workshop and job search requirements
  • Drug-free and able to pass a drug screen
  • Willing to have a criminal background check conducted

These are just a few of our eligibility guidelines. A Cincinnati Works representative will review all of our guidelines with you to determine your eligibility for our program.

**Note:  A referral to an apprenticeship program does not mean automatic acceptance.  Each building trade has its own selection proces, often including completing an application, test, and interview.
 
To qualify for a referral, you must meet certain requirements, including:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation

If you meet these requirements, SuperJobs will test your reading and math abilities using the computer-based TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education).  Acceptable scores may vary depending on the type of apprenticeship.  Testing occurs after you meet pre-screen requirements, research and select positions of interest, and attend SuperJobs Center Orientation.

This is a nine-week, pre-employment training program for individuals who are economically disadvantaged.  The program's focus is to teach computer applications and professional correspondence skills that will enhance employability, assist participants in obtaining employment that is sufficient to care for themselves and their families, and/or expand employment opportunities.  Each nine-week session includes a one-week internship. If you are interested in the evening Bridges Program there is currently a waiting list.


City of Cincinnati Brownfield Job Training Program

Funded by the Environmental Protection Agency

 

The City of Cincinnati Brownfield Workforce Development Job Training Program is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Theis free-eight-week job training program is available to men and women who reside in Hamilton County.

 

Program Courses: Program Requirements: 
 Career Development (32-hour)be an adult at least eighteen years of age
 Site Worker - HAZWOPER (40 hour)have a GED (7th grade reading level or High School Diploma
 OSHA Construction (30 hour)be able to lift 40 lbs., pass drug test and physical
 Lead Abatement Worker (32-hour)have a valid driver's license and transportation
 Asbestos Abatement Supervisor (40-hour)provide police check
 Mold Remediation (32-hour)provide 3 reference letters along with a written request by applicant to enter the program.
 Brownfield Awareness (24-hour)
 Brownfield Environmental Technology Training (32-hour)
 Tool Box Safety (8-hour)
 Confined Space Entry (16-hour)

This program is presented by the Internation Chemical Workers Union Council Center for Worker Health and Safety Education.
