Ohio Medicaid adult dental benefits restored
Adult dental benefits were restored effective July 1, 2008. The following benefits are now available to Medicaid adults (age 21 and older):
two annual routine exams and cleanings;
extractions and oral surgery services (including removal of impacted teeth);
crowns, posts and related services;
full and partial dentures and related services;
endodontics (including root canals); and
FREE DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN - Provided by the Cincinnati Dental Society Children ages 3 to 18 may be eligible for free dental care at the Cincinnati Center for Children’s Dentistry’s Roselawn Dental Center location. The Center is located within the Roselawn Lutheran Church at 1608 Summit Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237. It is solely operated by the Cincinnati Dental Society and
is not affiliated with the church or any other dental group practice. Private practice licensed community dentists volunteer to bring comprehensive dental care to children without dental insurance, Medicaid coverage and who fall 200% below the poverty level. Dentists provide cleanings, fillings and extractions as necessary to restore dental health and treat dental problems. The Cincinnati Dental Society coordinates treatment days and transportation to the Dental Center with community elementary schools and churches to help eliminate the need for families to take off from work. However, there are times when this is not possible and the families will be asked to provide their own transportation.
